PORTAL TO HELL????

Monday March 21, 2005

I'm a little hungover when I'm writing this cause I went to a house party at Chris A.'s (Yes, that Chris A.) house last night. It was pretty cool cause I got to talk to some people I haven't talked to in a while even though we live in the same city, we're just super busy all the time. She has a pool so a bunch of us jumped in the water at the same time even though it was pretty cold, but it was super fun and exciting. I started talking to Will while I was there and we made plans to get coffee later this week which is cool because there is this new coffee place I want to try on Madison.

Speaking of movies, I bought The Incredibles to watch with Autumn. I have so many DVDs now I had to give her her own shelf. I thought it was pretty good and surprisingly deep for a kids movie. Rachel also watched with us and we had a structured debate after to decide what power would be the best. We didn't agree, but I said super speed would be the coolest and I stand by it because imagine how much time you could save on stuff.

I've been really into making chili lately which Rachel says is getting a little repetitive but it's super easy to make and I can leave the TV on while I do it because I'm not frying anything. She bought me a cookbook and I told her that I don't like cooking I just like chili. Plus now that the kitchen isn't also my bedroom I can make as much as I want without my clothes smelling. Last week I tried adding brown sugar which was really great because it made it a little less spicy. I was talking to the guy at the grocery store and he said I should try cocoa too so I might do that soon.

So kind of cool thing happening. There have been so many deer all over, I think they're saying it's record fawn births or something. People are going to the side of the highway to take photos so I think I'll go on one of these days that I'm off work and see for myself. I went on a walk earlier in the month down by the train tracks but I didn't see any but that's on the wrong side of town anyway and I guess they're very cliquey deer. Actually it was kind of a weird walk for a reason I'll get to. When I parked the car some teens (actually, one of them was Josie's step brother so she probably already knows this story) stopped me and warned me it was spooky out further into the forest. Apparently they found a portal to hell. I think they were trying to make me paranoid because they guessed why I was out there. Anyway they left and I realized a few minutes into the walk there were like no animals around so they were probably making a ton of noise or whatever would scare off the animals like that. I kept getting this weird vibe but Becks suggested there was a different, more rational reason for that, ha ha. She's probably right but I can't shake the feeling.

I ended up following the tracks over to the red bridge down there which I haven't been to since high school. I was kind of expecting to see people hanging out but it was just me at that point-so eerie. I ended up rewatching The Blair Witch Project and ordering pizza, which was nice since I haven't had a lot of time to chill lately. Then Rachel invited some friends over and we played poker and I ended up making enough to pay myself back for the pizza, which was sweet.
